Product Evaluate - Nikon D60 SLR Camera

The Product

The Nikon D60 DSLR burst on the camera world scene in February of 2008 and was thrust into the spotlight because of the help of a high profile ad campaign featuring Ashton Kutcher. The D60 does not look all that a lot completely different than 2006's Nikon D40, however one look underneath the "hood" and the upgrades are clear.

The Good

The D60 incorporates a state of the art Energetic Mud Reduction System that includes air vents that assist to deflect mud particles away from the lens. In addition, this upgrade also contains an Optical Low Go Filter vibration system that works to softly shake dust from the low cross filter upon begin up and shut down. One other cool touch is the auto sensor that can change the LCD view from vertical to horizontal relying on the digital camera's orientation. The D60 also added data imprinting to help date and timestamp photos as well. Whereas the D40's upgrade the D40x characteristic 10.2 megapixel's vs. 6.1, the D60 comes customary with 10.2.

These are just a few of the many upgrades and enhancements that Nikon noticed fit to incorporate in this subsequent generation bundle of their well-liked people friendly line.

The Bad
One of the foremost drawbacks for the D60 Package has been the price. The $550+ price tag is somewhat dear for what it provides in comparison with other models that exist on the marketplace. Another downside is that the lens based mostly stabilization is just not quite as much as the level of the sensor shift that's at the moment provided my other competitors. Picture quality, whereas well above average, is rated a stable 7 out of 10 by many digital camera fans and websites.

The Verdict

Overall, the Nikon D60 is a strong product on this planet of entry stage digital SLR's. For many who've trusted Nikon for years, the quality and dependability of this product doesn't disappoint.

User Friendly is a word that desires for use by any newbie to the world of SLR's and this model does not disappoint. Considering the overwhelming reputation of the D40 sequence, this next generation Nikon SLR, while only a tad out of the worth range for some, gives a plethora of options and will ship image quality that shall be at or above the standards of most images fanatics out there.
