Im planning to buy a Xbox 360 elite and my friends say PS3, HELP!!!!?

Well your friends are right. The 360 in terms of quality SUCKS. Especially in India. It has a near 33% failure rate. I know you want a console only for 2-3 years but whats the use of it if it stays with Microsoft for most of the time in repair. The 360 has a big library compared to the PS3 is right, but saying that a 360 has a better library is outright fanboyism. PS3 has as many good exclusives as the 360 (Halo vs killzone 2, Gears vs MGS4). In the future (2-3 years), PS3 has much better exclusives. The 360 is bound to have more exclusives(till now) cause it was released a year early.
If you are buying a console just for games, take everything out of your mind (your like for 360, hate for PS3...) and with a neutral mind go over the list of exclusives coming out for PS3 and 360 in 2009.
PS3: Killzone 2(rated best FPS over Halo and COD4 by critics and is the best looking game till date-critics), Uncharted 2 (adventure game and a sequel to an awesome game- Is going to have better graphics than KZ2), Infamous (a GTA kind of open world game, but you have super powers!!!), MAG (will support 250 online), GOD OF WAR 3 (the biggest game ever...Period. Not Halo, not Final Fantasy , not Gears, Not MGS4, nothing even comes close to this franchise.Period The game is coming out in FULL HD something the 360 can't do), Heavy Rain, Quantum Theory (a Third person shooter), GT5 (again a AAA sequel to GT4 which was the best racing game of the previous gen).... and then not in the distant future Final Fantasy vs 13, Twisted Metal, Resistance 3, LBP 2.......
360 in 2009- Halo Wars (a RTS game) and Halo: OSTD (an expansion pack according to me)........ nothing else interesting? Alan Wake.... um thats it.
You say no Blu-Ray, my friend Blu-Rays the future. All PS3 games are in Blu-Ray and most utilize the full space of Blu-Ray (50GB). Eg games like MGS4 and KZ2 can't even fit in 3 DVDs so forget games with epic story line and awesome graphics (as awesome as KZ2) coming on the 360.
I do own a 360 (got it as a present... hard to believe after I bitch about it so much) and the thing has got the infamous RROD 3 times(it's only a year old). It scratches my discs and I have to f*cking pay for online.
Thats all I can say. PS3 is better having spent time on both consoles. Also, PS3's hardware is awesome (only 0.02 % failure rate), I get wifi in it, bluetooth, FREE ONLINE(it's a big factor especially in India) , it has a better processor (8 cores running at 550 MHZ each compared to 3 cores running on 500MHz on the 360)...... whosh I can go on and on.
Buy a PS3, it's better.
